Karinto is a traditional fried dough snack popular throughout Japan. This rendition is coated with a sweet mentai curry flavored sauce. Mentaiko is spicy cod roe and is a Fukuoka specialty that is added to a wide variety of Kyushu dishes. Here it adds just a little extra spice to the curry and makes this karinto uniquely Kyushu.
