FAQ

FAQ

How is Bokksu different from other Japanese snack subscription boxes?

Good question! Other Japanese snack boxes use mass-produced mainstream snacks that can be readily found in most Asian markets outside of Japan. Bokksu directly sources its artisanal snacks from local snackmakers in Japan (some of whom have been around for over 200 years!). We curate only the best, high quality and gourmet snacks, never filler items.

If I upgrade to a kiribako, will I receive one every month?

The kiribako box is a one-time upgrade. After receiving the kiribako, you'll receive the next month's snacks in our orange box.

How do I take care of my kiribako box?

  • This product uses natural paulownia wood, which controls humidity and repels insects. The box may expand, contract or warp due to dryness or humidity when used in places where temperature and humidity change drastically (direct sunlight, high temperature, near fire and fan heaters, air conditioners).

Please do not use the product in a place where it is exposed to direct wind, in extremely cold regions, etc., as the climate may cause cracks or damage.

  • Each box is unique, so some color inconsistencies may occur, or may discolor over time.

  • Don’t soak the box in water for a long time or apply any chemicals as the texture may be impaired or the adhesive part may peel off. Perfumes or oils may stain the wood.

  • Note that the boxes are delicate, so small scratches may occur on the surface during transportation. Excessive impact may cause cracks, so please make sure not to drop the box.

If I'm an existing subscriber, can I upgrade to kiribako?
