About Bokurano Ijyuseikatsu:
Iga City in Mie Prefecture, renowned for its traditional crafts, was the third city in Japan to enact a partnership system. Katsunori and Hiro, a gay couple who moved to Iga, have played a pivotal role in revitalizing local industries by creating “kumi-himo” (braided cords) and Iga pottery, with the support of understanding local people and businesses.

About Niji Yaki Mug Cup (Iga Ware):
Iga no Yakimono, or Iga ware, is a type of ceramics made in the Iga region of Mie Prefecture. The clay used in Iga ware is renowned for its high fire resistance, making it ideal for earthenware pots and heat-resistant tableware.

This mug represents the harmonious blend of tradition and modernity, created by a gay couple, Katsunori and Hiro, who moved to Iga. With the support of understanding local people and businesses, they have revitalized local industries by crafting “kumi-himo” (braided cords) and Iga pottery.

About Iga Braided Cords:
The origins of Iga braided cords date back to before the Nara period. However, it was during the middle of the Meiji period (1868-1912) that Iga's braided cords saw full-scale development. Techniques from Edo braiding were introduced to Iga, transforming it into the largest producer of high-end hand-knitted cords.
In 1976, Iga braided cords were designated as a “traditional craft” by the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, solidifying their cultural and historical importance.

Add a touch of cultural heritage and elegance to your collection with this beautiful Iga braided cord bracelet. Perfect for personal use or as a thoughtful gift, it celebrates both tradition and modernity in a unique and vibrant way.

About Tokyo Pride:

Tokyo Pride is a major annual event held every June, featuring a vibrant parade, festival, Queer Art Exhibition, and more, all working toward a society where everyone can live with pride. It is organized by Tokyo Rainbow Pride, a nonprofit team that has been leading the charge since the first event held in 2012. Together, they continue to amplify LGBTQ+ voices and foster greater inclusivity across Japan.

This year, Tokyo Rainbow Pride collaborated with Bokksu in recognition of our shared values and the founder’s desire to uplift diverse voices through thoughtful curation. We’re honored to support the celebration with official merchandise that embraces identity, joy, and self-expression.
