Refresh Your Summer With Fresh Fruits

by Melanie Totenberg

With the summer sun heating things up, nothing beats the refreshing juicy sweet flavor of fruit. This July, Bokksu built their box of hand-picked Japanese snacks around the theme of “summer in Japan.” And summer in Japan means a medley of sweet and sour fruit bursting onto the scene. Think citrus, peach, watermelon, and more. Yum!

Japanese Fruit Tree

If you want the ease of trying a multitude of sweet and savory summer snacks, Bokksu is the Japanese subscription box that you’ll love. Each Japanese snack box comes with a selection of 20-24 sweets and treats and a tea pairing, as well as a culture guide that explains the flavors and thoughts behind each Japanese snack.

Here’s a sneak peek of what our July Japanese snack box has to offer. On the sweet side, we’ve got Suika Watermelon gummies. Refreshing and sweet, watermelon slices make for perfect summer snacks. Released this season, this gummy candy takes its inspiration from this summer treat. Shaped like tiny watermelon slices and dusted with sugar, these limited-edition candies are great for whenever your snack craving strikes. If you just can’t get enough of these watermelon gummies, the Bokksu Boutique is the place to stock up while you can.

On the savory side, we’d like to introduce Otona no Otsumami: Salt Lemon. For the uninitiated, otsumami are simply savory snacks typically served alongside beer. This can include dried roasted fish jerky, salted nuts, tempura seaweed crackers, and rice crackers. The otsumami in the July snack box includes rice crackers and peanuts seasoned with Setouchi lemon and salt and offer a crunchy, salty, and tart snack experience. They pair perfectly with a beer of your choice and make tasty summer snacks on their own too. We’re confident you’ll love them as much as we do. Once you’ve finished the pack included in the July box, head over to the Bokksu Boutique if you find yourself craving more.

We don’t want to spoil the whole box for you, but we will reveal one more item. July’s box features hojicha tea, a deep roasted green tea with nutty molasses undertones. This tea makes a great companion to the rest of the Japanese snacks included in the Summer Fruits box.
